Mission: Dream Catcher

Once the visitors had been escorted out, the queen turned to Eurshari, "You will not allow them? YOU??" she closed the distance to her adviser. "If they are assassins, if they are spies, then you have until the full moon to find such. There are questions, yes. How and why. How did they survive a year alone, and what were they doing in my offices. While they train our hunters, search their dwelling. Find your answers."

Eurshari reached his hand forward before he gripped it in to a fist with anger. "Of course I will. But they could be locked in the holding cells below these halls until their intentions are discovered." he said. "You let them free among our people perpetrating your continuing patterns of bad choices."

"When you cage an animal you always risk its anger. As they are now, guarded but not restrained they will think themselves free. Think themselves clever. Whatever they are here to do, they will think they've achieved it with no repercussions." she explained, in a tone as though she were explaining to a child. "In a cage, they will never relax, and we will never know the full truth. Comfortable, relaxed, and seemingly accepted they will make mistakes. Perhaps, as you accuse, more mistakes than I have." she nearly spit the words.

Eurshari took a deep breath to keep from wringing the girls neck. Again. "My dear, we have talked about this. You are young, and while you have great insight and the gift to heal your people you lack experience and wisdom." he said. "You need to be listening more. a Caged animal can be learned from faster than someone left to scheme."

"Then find me a reason to cage them aside from suspicion." her tone sounded tired. Either from fatigue, or from constant second guessing... was hard to tell. "Find something, and then your dreams of being proven right will come true." she paused, "Find something to put them in irons, and I'll let you handle every aspect of their time here. With my blessing."

He watched her for a long moment, "Agreed." he let his eyes sweep up and down her body, "They have tired you." he stated and offered his hand to take her to the throne to rest.

An offer she accepted.
