Mission: Operation Red Garden
Location: CEO's Quarters
Timeline: On the way to Lotus Major

Zeti was finally off duty, the shift had been a long one as she oversaw the prep of all the equipment they were planning on taking down to the surface. She was tired and ready to get out of her uniform and spend the evening trying to unwind. She didn’t have to be back on duty for another sixteen hours and was planning on having a couple of drinks along with a big piece of meat. When she got to her door she found a redheaded nurse waiting at the door and flashed her a half smile.

“Johena, I wasn’t expecting to see you I thought you were on shift.”

The red head’s internal light flashed a little through her face and neck as she offered a smile to Zeti. “I swapped shifts with someone who needed a change.” she said. “So I have today off. I kind of wanted to see you.” she said.

“I’m afraid I’ll be terrible company, but you’re welcome to come in,” Zeti said with a half smile. “I was going to drink some whiskey, eat some red meat with a lot of fat in it and probably end up sleeping on my couch.”

“Sounds like better company than none.” Johena smirked. “I don’t have to stay, I don’t even have to distract you from your whiskey, red meat, and couch sleeping… I could just sit here and read a book.” she shrugged.

“You are welcome to stay,” Zeti shook her head, before she punched in a couple of commands and the door opened. She headed in first and started taking off her uniform. “We can have a few drinks together and likely not sleep on the couch.”

Johena laughed, “Well I wasn’t planning on setting any expectations.” she said as she stepped inside and shrugged off her sweater, since she’d arrived in civilian clothes. She had black leggings and a green off the shoulder long shirt that hugged her figure and ended just below her hips. “I just hadn’t seen you in a while, and… well I can’t stay away.”

“I… I’m sorry I didn’t mean… We can just sleep,” Zeti glanced back, before she let her hair down and shook her head to get it a little more even before heading over to her replicator. “You want anything?”

“Tea please. Thank you.” Johena said. “I didn’t mean to make it weird, If that happens, it happens.” she said. She let out a breath ad ran her fingers through her hair. “So… how was work?”

“Busy… We loaded up a lot of gear for this mission.”

Zeti replicated Johena a tea and got herself a steak with a baked potato, she gave the tea to Johena before setting her food on a side table and headed to her wet bar and grabbed a whiskey decanter and poured herself a glass before she headed back to the couch. Once she was seated her work boots came off and her uniform jacket got tossed over another chair leaving her in a mustard colored tunic and her black work pants.

“I spend the day making sure everything was ready to be deployed once we arrive at Lotus Major. I just want to get back to fixing things.”

“I had to inventory a section of medical supplies.” Johena said as she settled on the couch and tucked her feet under herself. “I can imagine it was so much worse for your department.” she chuckled, “Had to haul cargo rather than fix broken tricorders.”

“I don’t fix broken tricorders, I have people that do that,” Zeti laughed softly. “Although there are days where I wouldn’t mind going back to just having one job and being really good at it.”

She shrugged, “I suppose I can understand that. I wouldn’t really want to be in charge of a massive department. Running shifts I don’t mind, hell at times I run a wing of the hospital, but beyond that…. No thanks.”

“Everyone wants to be the boss, until they are the boss,” Zeti grinned. “Honestly, part of what I like about our friendship is the fact we’re in different fields. We don’t both complain about engineering or the CO and XO if you were also senior staff.”

Johena chuckled, “Pretty sure I’ve not met either of them.” she said sipping at her tea. “Can’t really complain about them if I don’t know of them, or even work for them directly.”

“Good, I don’t want to talk about them,” Zeti took a drink from her whiskey before she started digging into her food. “So how have you been the last few days? Anything interesting develop?”

Johena blushed a bit, some extra light shone through her skin. “Not really” she said looking down into her tea. “I just didn’t want to be home tonight.” she said softly. “At least not alone.” she shrugged. “If you’d been busy I’d have gone to the lounge to read in the corner.”

“That doesn’t sound like nothing,” Zeti furrowed her brow and glanced over at the redhead, she was blushing and that had her curious. “You know you can talk to me about it, right? I’m not sure I’m your girlfriend yet but we’re heading that way.”

She offered a small smile, “It's nothing to worry about. I promise.” she said. “I just need a couple days to calm myself. Someone got me all wound up earlier today.” she shrugged.

“A couple of days? Point them out to me, I’ll set them straight,” Zeti smiled at Johena. “I am third in charge and I do have a reputation to uphold. Might as well put me to good use.”

She waved her hand, “It’s no one here.” she said. “You wouldn’t be able to change anything. Don’t worry about it. Like I said In a few days I’ll be back to my old self, a flashy red with a big smile and a little sass.”

“Anything I can do to help get you back there faster,” Zeti flashed her a charming smile. “If you want me help all you gotta do is ask. I know some pretty dangerous people. Hell, I’m pretty dangerous.”

She waved her hand, “Don’t worry about it, seriously. I’d rather not even talk about it. Please.” she said. “So rumor is that we picked up a few friends of yours?” she said changing the subject.

“They’re the ones I was talking about,” Zeti chuckled softly. “Aden is like my big brother, I admit I haven’t spent a lot of time with Elizabeth but she is a sweetheart. Makes me want to leave Starfleet and go work with them.”

Johena arched her brows, “Really? I thought You loved your carrier?” she asked her. “And you’re stepping up fast, why would you want to leave starfleet?” she asked. She’d been thinking of going to the civilian fleet for a while, but she hadn’t been able to decide.

“I do, but I don’t see myself moving beyond Chief Engineer, I love engineering. Moving up to be an XO would mean leaving that behind,” Zeti frowned slightly. “I’ve never wanted to command a ship.”

“So this is the end of the road for you then at this point?” Johena asked sipping her tea. “But it would be more of a unilateral move because you’d not be more than an engineer on a civilian ship either.”

“I’d have more say, because I wouldn’t be following the Starfleet rules and regs, but yes that’s accurate,” Zeti nodded. “I don’t know that I’d say it’s the end of the road, just that I don’t want to go into command.”

Johena arched her brows, “I can’t imagine that there is anything better than being chief engineer on this ship. It’s practically a pace station.” she said. “I mean unless you want to on a real space station, there really isn’t anything more you can accomplish more than this?”

“I could go into an R&D program, a Space station or land base,” Zeti looked over at Johena again. “You worried I’m going to leave you baby?”

Johena blushed brightly. She lowered her head so her hair fell across her face and she looked into her teacup as she hid behind it. “Oh… I… I wasn’t meaning any thing by that. I mean I like you being here.” she said. “Who else would I have to sass?”

Zeti moved her plate aside and leaned over, she brushed some of Johena’s hair from her face and kissed her forehead. “Oh you like sassing me? Haven’t you heard about how much of a bitch I am? That could mean trouble for you.”

“Oh I have heard that you are a bitch, in fact I made you prove that it wasn’t your only mode when we met. Rumors fly heavily about you, you know. They still do, and now everyone is curious if you have a girlfriend or not, and most of them don’t realize they’re referring to me even while talking to me.” she laughed.

Zeti laughed out loud at that and reached up to brush some of her hair from Johena’s face. “I don’t have a girlfriend, I mean we haven’t made that call yet. I also know the rumors fly, they do no matter what ship I’m on.”

Johena shrugged, “I’m not in a rush to define what is going on. Rumors are rumors.” she shrugged. She tipped her face into her hand, “I don’t really want to full blown relationship…” she stammered.

“That’s fine, I’d rather not settle down until I’m out of Starfleet,” Zeti held her cheek for a moment, before she leaned in and kissed her lips. “I’d say it’s more than a booty call at this point.”

Johena laughed, “Good thing you have a nice ass.” Johna winked as she blushed. She could handle a hook up, but a relationship was out of the question.

“I have a great ass, I get hit on all the time because of it,” Zeti flashed a charming grin at Johena. “Sometimes it actually drives me nuts, when I’m trying to work and eyes just can’t stay off of it.”

“It’s a good thing I don’t work in engineering I’d never get anything done!” she said. Johena took a deep breath, “I’ve actually avoid the engineering check in shift for that reason. You’re a distraction.”

“You avoid the check in shift because of me?” Zeti laughed at that and shook her head. “Of course if you did the check in everyone would think we’re together because we’d likely not keep it professional.”

Johena nodded, “Exactly, and we can’t exactly go around making every ones rumors founded now can we?” she smirked. “And hanging out in public will just cause way too much temptation.”

“Only if you can’t control yourself! Do I really evoke such primal feelings from you?” Zeti asked with a playful grin. “If you had to do my check in, could you keep your hands off of me?”

Johena tapped her chin a few moments, “Honestly I likely would make up a fake reason to diagnose you with intense muscle tension and start you up on a physical therapy massage regimen.”

“Ohhh that sounds like heaven,” Zeti’s mouth formed a small o as she thought about it. “But you have to be my therapist. I could also randomly break things so I can spend time helping you fix them.”

“Now that sounds interesting.” she said. “Of course they will have to be things big enough to get the attention of the chief engineer and not just the assignment of a crewman.” Johena said.

“I’m sure you’ll come up with something,” Zeti leaned back and let out a breath, before knocking back the rest of her whiskey. “You ready for bed Johena? I was tired when I got back here.”

Johena eyed the woman, “Yeah… I’m ready.” she said. “I think you’re full of it though. You just want to get me in bed with you.”

Zeti licked her lips and gave Johena a torrid look, before she stood up from the couch and wiggled her hips as she started walking away. “I don’t know what you’re talking about Johena.”

“Liar liar pants on fire. You better get them off fast before they burn you!” Johena laughed as she got up and chased after her.

Zeti laughed loudly, before she took several quick strides to her room door. The normally hard-nosed engineering felt a flash of joy as she crossed through it, before spinning around and giving Johena a hungry look.

“But they’re hot! I think I need help getting them off.”

Johena looked down at Zeti’s pants and then laughed before she grabbed the waistband, and popped open the button before she touched her forehead to hers, “You won't be less hot once they’re off.”

“By the Prophets you’re cheesy.”

Zeti giggled before she tilted her head forward and locked her lips with Johena’s, as she felt a rush fly through her body. She needed to blow of a lot of steam and this was going to hit the spot.
