Had to be done

Posted on Mon May 28th, 2018 @ 7:24pm by Commander Mercia Kavi & Commander Khelev ch'Koro [Halan]

Mission: New Horizon
Timeline: REALLLLY back post

Mercia ran her fingers through her hair as she walked in to the hotel room that had been her base of operations. She heard the door shut behind her, it was the first moment she and Khelev were alone since he and Hayter had caught up with her. She turned to face him, trying to read him. "I had to." she said quickly, with no regret in her voice.

Khelev's antenna lashed at the air a couple of times, before they arched back slightly and he looked at her straight on. "That's bullshit, you've completely broken the trust between us. How could you run off without telling me? When we became family that means we face each other's enemies as one. Do I mean so little to you?"

Mercias shoulders deflated slightly, "I could only do this because you mean so much! I can finally move forward in life with peace. And knowing you are there to care for Molli and Tali, that made me able to do this." she said folding her arms. "I didn't tell you because you'd have stopped me..." she said finally sheepish.

"Stopped you? Do you truly not know me?" Khelev said with a growl. "I would have stood with you. Don't be such a fool."

"Stopped me to set it up so you came with me. I wanted to do this on my own Khelev. And who are you to talk about facing enemies together? You left me behind for 18 months while you went on a hunt against MY enemies!" she countered. She didn't want any one to make her feel like she made a mistake. She knew this had to happen.

"Because you needed time to heal, you had been physically and mentally tortured and you weren't my mate," Khelev glared at her, hating that she'd brought that up. "How do you know what I would have done? You didn't ask me and I should have been there with you."

"Why is it so hard for you to accept that I wanted to face my demons on my own?" she demanded as she squared off and glared at him. "That I felt that I was strong enough to do this on my own two feet?" she asked.

"Because you are my mate and that means never having to face anything alone again," Khelev glared back at her. "Why is it so hard for you to accept that we are family and to me that means everything!"

Mercia let out a frustrated growl, "Because this is two different things! You couldn't have gone with me! If things went side ways Molli and Tali would have no one, I wasn't going to risk both of us to get this done. " she said. "I made the right move, and I know it. You kept home safe, you kept our daughter safe, the reason I could be free of this history was because you were where I NEEDED you to be!"

"No I wasn't! I ended up going after you!" Khelev growled back at her, he took a step forward and looked down into her eyes. "Next time we talk, we fight back to back. We can't keep making the same mistake."

"Well I guess we are even now." she said glaring up at him, holding her ground. Her eyes held challenge, annoyed to remember that he left to find her, rather than trusting her and taking care of Molli.

"At the very least I need to know what's going on," Khelev growled at her. "And yeah, I guess we are even. Now I want to know how we're going to work off all of this anger."

One eye brow raised as she looked up at him. "The normal way I suspect." she said. "I'm still mad at you for chasing me. At least I waited for you to come back." she grumbled.

"I like it when your mad, you don't hold back," Khelev narrowed his eyes at her, as his antenna bent backwards and he grabbed her hips and pulled her into him. "You're beautiful when you're angry."

"You damn Andorians. You think this is some romantic gesture? I just set right my past and I expected you to stay put. But no. you had to run off and try to be a hero for me." she said poking him in the chest.

"I don't think it was a romantic gesture and I wasn't trying to be a hero," Khelev growled at her, she still didn't understand. "I am a warrior, I do not run from battle. I was coming to stand with you."

Mercia narrowed her eyes, trying to stay angry, she wanted to be. But she got it. She hadn't needed him, but he wanted to be needed. She pursed her lips, "And just where did you leave our daughter hmm?" she tried poking at him again.

"Somewhere safe, why? Don't trust me?" Khelev asked coyly, he knew she wanted to be mad at him but he didn't care about that. They would get past this. "All that matters is we've got some time alone."

She felt his hands gripping her hips a bit tighter. "Oh you're trying to be coy with me? Not really give me an answer? What if that makes me all distracted and I can't spend time alone with you, focused hmm?"

"When has that stopped you?" Khelev asked with a big laugh. "Last week I'd hardly gotten it out of my mouth that she was with a baby sitter and you were all over me!"

"Thats because she'd a pain in the ass and isn't sleeping when she's supposed to and we hadn't been alone in weeks." she said finally laughing a bit. The tension started to fade and Mercia had to admit, she was glad he was here.
