Returning

Mission: The Light of Emmah

Mercia Kavi took a deep breath as she stood at the edge of the landing pad. Admiral Grayson had ordered her to greet an officer being assigned to his staff. She tucked her dark hair behind her ear as the tropical wind tried to whip it around. She had so many things to think about, getting Gladiator back, organizing the crew, recovering from her captivity, being a new mother to the daughter that should have been hers, figuring out how to handle her brain damaged sister, and now David being laid up from the attack. She really didn't have time to do Grayson diplomatic work.

When the shuttle landed and door opened up she felt her heart start to pound. Stepping out of the shuttle was none other than Khelev ch'Koro. She'd seen him once in the last 16 months. After ten months of captivity he'd been there when she woke up in the hospital after rescue. They'd been dear friends for years, close as family, and finding out she'd been taken by COIL, and COIL killing members of his family he couldn't sit idly by. He left starfleet to hunt them down. she'd begged him to stay long enough for her to recover so she could go with him, but he left her behind. She knew it was the best move, but part of her was sore about it.

At the same time, she was beyond happy to see him. She ran forward and threw herself at the Andorian, knocking the bag from his hand and wrapping herself around him. "Khelev." she said.

Khelev's antenna stood up, before turning in towards each other as his big arms wrapped around her and held her close to him. He kissed her forehead and just hung onto her for a long time. She was one of the few people that could do this and not make him upset. "Kavi, good to see you on your feet."

She pulled back and smiled, "Give me a couple more months of physical therapy and I'll be ready to kick your ass in the ring again." she said. "I'm still mad at you for leaving me behind, but I'm so glad to see you, especially now. I take it Grayson begged you to come back?" she asked him.

"You never could, don't get ahead of yourself," Khelev smirked at her. "He was part of it, two years of intel that I agreed to hand over without complaint helped. It looks like I'll be on the island a lot more."

She bit her lower lip, "You'll have to come to dinner tonight, I want to hear all about your hunt.... and there is someone you need to meet." she said looking up at him as they headed off the landing pad and towards the lift that would take them down in to the command building.

"Oh?" Khelev questioned, glancing over at Kavi. She was excited about whatever it was. "And yes, I do have a lot to tell you. I will warn you it's not for the faint of heart."

"When have I ever given you the impression i'm faint of heart? The last time you saw me trapped in a hospital bed doesn't count." Mercia said giving him a look. They entered the lift, and she paused, "Do you need to see Grayson first or get settled in some quarters?" she asked him. "I have a house, you can stay there if you'd like." she offered with a bit of an 'innocent' grin, but her eye brows waggled a bit.

Khelev arched one of his brows as his antenna turned inwards towards each other, "I think I'll take a room on base for now, but I would love to build a house on the water at some point. What kind of a house did the great Mercia Kavi get?"

She smiled, "Its a nice beach house, light and airy, a small yard, and a path through the jungle to a private beach in a cove." she old him, Honestly I really enjoy it, its been relaxing, and making a place my own, and developing a home has been really hard, but worth it." Mercia said. She ordered the lift to take them to the 3rd floor. The office there would assign Khelev and room and requisition him any thing else he needed. "I don't have long before a meeting, however, I am serious about dinner tonight. We have a lot to catch up on." she said as she looked him over. He looked tough and strong as ever, she only hoped that her months of recovery and constant PT was returning her to strength. She still felt she was too thin.

"Of course I'll come to dinner, just let me know where the house is," Khelev answered her. "Would you like me to cook? I'm still pretty good at it."

She smiled and chuckled, "I've missed your cooking so I am absolutely taking you up on that." she said. "See you at about 5?" she asked checking the time.

"That sounds good," Khelev smiled at her, Andorians didn't smile much because it wasn't something the did but instead was a learned behavior. He'd grown up around humans so it helped. "I'll even dress up beyond wearing my uniform."

"Civies are fine." she said. "I have access to the beach, so if you want to swim... come prepared." she said.
