Mission: A test of Patience

Mercia had been starting to receive information through out the ship, the power was back and there didn't seem to be any damage other than bumps and bruises. She glanced over at David who was glaring at Emmah who had just arrived to look at his foot. "Hurry up and let her look at it!" Mercia said. "I'd like to go change, because I'm sort of out of uniform!" she said motioning to her still Lara Croft style outfit.

"I am pretty sure we could make that the normal female uniform if we truly try hard," David tried to joke but was a little uneasy with being scanned while working.

"Well aren't you cheeky." Mercia rolled her eyes. Stood up and stretched, "I'll be back ten minutes." she said, not giving him an option to tell her no, and ignoring his previous comment. She turned and headed to the lift, but before she could the sounds of fire on the shields filled the air and Mercia returned to her chair, a change of clothes would have to wait yet again. "What was that?" she demanded.

"Three ships dropping out warp, firing!" The security station called out.

"Red alert!" Mercia yelled out and the lighting instantly changed.

Elian stood next to her chair, hands behind his back, "All hands to battle stations." he said, as his voice carried through out the ship.

The turboloft doors opened and a red faced Lady Patience stumbled out, followed by not one, not two, hut four security holograms. "Is this some sort of cruel Joke Commander?!" She demanded.

"What are you doing here?" Mercia stood up again, ready to stack this woman to the wall. The ship rocked.

"What is going on?" Patience demanded as if suddenly noticing the flurry of activity.

"We are under attack,"David answered as he read the information on the view port screen. "Patience, You are not authorized on my bridge, get off or I'll have you escorted off." He wasn't in the mood to mess with this crap and this would have to wait for another time.

Patience glared, "I think you're a poor captain! What sort of protection is this?" she hissed.

"I don't give a damn what your thoughts. Security, escort the Lady and her personal to her quarters. If she resists, throw her in the bridge on account of interfering with the affairs of the operations of the ship and her crew," Commander Hawkins ordered as he didn't even look up at her. there were several things going on and he wasn't about to waste the time of his crew over another argument with anyone.

The holograms instantly grabbed her and hauled her back in to the turbolift, ignoring her protests.

Mercia dropped back in her chair once she was gone, one hand holding on to her chair, the other dancing over her controls pulling up tactical information on whoever was attacking them. Who were they and what the hell did they want? Several more shots landed on the Gladiator.

"Shields at 96%." Elian informed calmly.

"Orders Commander?" Mercia demanded, not wanting to step on his toes with what her own instincts were telling her to do next.
