Mission: Photons Everywhere
Timeline: Shortly after "Insubordination"

Ash made her way to the brig. She still had time to chat to Liam before heading to the meeting with the TGCO.

Entering the brig, she passed the security holograms without even acknowledging them and went looking for Liam. She found him in the third cell in. She sighed and leaned against the opposite wall, just staring at him for several moments. "What am I going to do with you?" she finally asked.

Liam smiled from the bunk, "I can think of a few things," he smiled noting in her face that she was being serious. He turned around folding his hands in his lap, "I am sorry, I tried hard you have no idea how hard. But I know my last comment was a hair over the top." Liam leaned forward, "Not that he didn't deserve it."

"Liam," she said, rolling her eyes.

Standing up approaching the field, "Well he did."

"I'm not denying that," she said carefully. "I tried to get him to let you out. No go. I DO think you owe him an apology, though."

"Are you out of your ..," he paused holding up his arms in disbelief, "I am he..." he huffed as if his thoughts were clear, "When he said..." he sighed loudly plopping down in a near by chair, "You get it right."

"That made absolutely no sense, Liam," she said slowly.

"What do you mean that didn't make sense," he honestly looked shocked, "I was crystal clear."

"It really wasn't," she said.

"I am not apologizing until I see his ass in the cell next to me," he stated, "I may have insulted him, but he assaulted me. I should press charges."

"You should, yes," she said. "But, I wouldn't. Let him have it, just this once."

"Well I want to," he said in a voice that sounded more like a whiny child then a grown adult.

"I know," she said. "And for the record, I think HE owes YOU an apology, too, but don't hold your breath." She paused for a moment. "Really, Liam. You know you shouldn't have said that about his 'daddy.' It was low."

Liam muttered under this breath, "it was meant to be." He stood back up and standing as close to Ash as the field would allow he sighed, "You may be right, but I am not apologizing. I will not give him the satisfaction of feeling he was right, and in my own opinion that is all an apology will do." He could see it in her face, "Even you know that Ash, he would never let me live it down."

"I do, I know it," she said.

"He had no right to dictate my personal life, and who I have a relationship with," the Diplomat add.

"No, he doesn't," she said. "I agree. But, you were STILL wrong, Liam. I can't MAKE you apologize, but I really wish you would. Look," she said, pushing off the wall and crossing to stand opposite him. "If you apologize and he doesn't, you'll have the knowledge that you're the better person. Like it or not, he IS the XO and you DO have to do as he says. Not in your personal life," she said quickly. "Ignore him on that, by all means. There's nothing he can do there, anyway. Apologize, be the bigger man, and let him think about what he's done."

Liam knew she was right, deep inside he really wanted to do more. "I will attempt to work this out," he said only believing it half-hearted.

"That's all I ask," she said. "You lip is bleeding. And it's puffy."

"I would ask you to kiss it better, but all things considering I don't know if that is smart," Liam joked, holding his lower jaw. "It is sore, and I think I lost a tooth, but nothing sickbay can't fix once I get out of here." He lied, he face hurt like hell. He'd spilt his lower lip. But he was determined to not let it effect him.

She smiled gently. "Not the first time you've been slugged, huh?" she asked.

"Probably won't be the last," he smiled, "But you have a meeting to go to, don't be late..."

"True," she said. "Jarland's.... Ugh. Never mind." She hesitated, then gave him a teasing grin. "Do you REALLY think of me as your girlfriend?" she asked.

Liam smiled, "Do you really need to ask, I took a punch defending us." He smirked.

Ash suppressed a giggle. "In that case," she said, and blew him a kiss. "See YOU later."
