Mission: The Overlords
Timeline: MD2

Sadie stepped inside the shuttle and leaned against the door frame, watching the nurse pacing back and forth, "Keep that up and you'll cause another hole those two will have to repair" she said motioning with her thumb outside.

Gwen was startled when she heard someone speak up. She turned about to see Sadie, and sighed as she said, "My apologies... It's just, I've never been away from my children for this long before, and I'm worried for them." She felt... awkward opening up to someone else, but she felt that the others at least ought to know why she had been acting so nervous lately.

Sadie arched her brows, "You have kids?" she demanded. "You're too young to have brats." she said. "Don't worry, I'm sure we'll get off this rock." she said. "The daycare centers up there have them well taken care of i'm sure."

Gwen almost found herself smiling as she thought, *They're not THAT bratty...* She settled for a reply of, "I'm 28, that's plenty old enough to have children. And I know the day cares are wonderful, the teachers are very adept, but I worry nonetheless."

"Lucky kids." Sadie grunted. "Must be nice to have a mom who cares." Sadie said. "Well, If you go outside, just don't go very far, stay within sight." she warned. "You need any thing?" she asked her before moving away from the wall.

Gwen shook her head, saying, "No, thank you. And I'll be right here if anyone needs medical attention." She shifted to her stern mother voice, "Which you had better not. Keep yourselves out of trouble."

"HA! You don't know me very well. Sadie Turner, Troublemaker. I run to trouble as if it were my long lost lover." she grinned.

This managed to squeeze a small smile out of Gwen, but also an eye roll. "Oh no, I guess I'm going to have to keep an eye on you." She shook her head, looking back down at her locket with the pictures of her twins.

"That them?" Sadie asked. "Im not really a kid person, they don't tend to listen to me so I get mad, and i'm more likely to stun them than fight them."

Gwen nodded as she moved so that Sadie could see, "Yes, that's Gracie," She said as she pointed to a picture of an adorable 5-year-old girl, "And this is Gustave," She pointed to a picture of a cute young boy in the other wing of the locket. "They're twins, 5 years old. Gustave is a troublemaker, I bet you'd like him..." She chuckled under her breath.

Sadie made a face, "If I don't shoot him first." she said. "I know I keep saying that, but it really is the most likely scenario."

Gwen shrugged and closed the locket. "Your loss. I suppose I'll keep them away from you then." She chucked. This girl may be harsh, but she had somehow managed to cheer Gwen up. It wasn't every day that someone could make her forget the pain she was going through, so she really appreciated how Sadie spent this time with her. "Thank you," She said, softly.

She shrugged, "I'd say anytime, but you might actually take me up on that so I'd better refrain." She offered the woman a teasing wink, "See you around." Sadie said before she exited the shuttle.
