:: ON ::

Delvok, after resolving the issues at the command and control centre found himself drawn to return to the chief science officers quarters. He had left his gear the following his untimely exit over drinks. The hour was getting late.....not late were everyone had gone to bed, but late as in it may be considered impolite to come unannounced to somebodies quarters.....again.

Delvok knocked gently and politely on the door.

There was a pause before the door opened, the blonde poking her head out. "Oh, hello again," M'Gann stated with a small smile. "Little late out..."

"I have just come off duty" said Delvok without feeling. "Sorry if I have disturbed you....I was hoping I could get my kit back from off your sofa?" Delvok almost Unerceptively fidgeted from side to side.

She shook her head. "Not at all. Come in." M'Gann stepped to the side to let him in.

"Thank you" he said entering her quarters a little cautiously. He walked quietly to make sure he did not wake anyone else in her quarters. He whispered "thank you for looking after it for me" as he slung the webbing over his shoulder and picked up the armoured vest.

"Not a problem," she replied. She reached over to a nearby console and lit the room a bit so it was easier to see.

"Nice place" whispered Delvok in conversation as he gathered the rest of his things

M'Gann nodded thoughtfully. "Thanks. It's a little big, but it's cozy." Watching him for a moment, she asked, "is it normal for you to work this late?"

Delvok stopped mid action, her question clearly having an effect on his normal emotionless face. But it was gone just as quickly. As he started packing up again he said. "At the moment at least....I have not been sleeping well lately."

The blonde took a step closer to him, one hand on her hip while the other gently scratched the back of her head. "Hm... nightmares?" She curiously asked.

Delvok shook his head and said thoughtfully "not exactly." He mused for a moment wandering if he should say more. He stopped gathering his things again before speaking “It’s difficult to explain. I have been a marine now for forty-five years. For approximately fifteen of those years I was a prisoner of war. Also I have recently returned from a twelve year secondment to Starfleet intelligence working undercover. These things can take their toll. I guess you could say I have trouble sleeping because of a weighted soul…..if you believe in that sort of thing.”

Oh. M'Gann crossed her arms over her chest, letting his words sink in. What he described would definitely keep someone awake. "Sorry," she managed.

"No need to apologies" he said starting to pick up more of his things. "Its not your fault."

"I get that. I'm sorry that sleep doesn't come easy," she clarified.

Delvok nodded in thanks. "The logical solution was to seek help . So i had a conversation with the ships counsellor. Her answers were a little unorthodox."

M'Gann slowly nodded. "Well, if you ever want to talk, maybe I can offer my services."

Delvok nodded politely. "Thank you. He now had all his gear gathered in his arms and over his shoulders. "Perhaps I will take you up on your offer" he then looked at his kit "but not tonight. The hour is late and I must get this lot put away. Thank you for your time."
